A witness told police she repeatedly warned Romano not to fire the BB rifle, but he continued pointing it around and shooting, authorities said. At some point, a BB struck the child and became lodged under her skin, police detailed in charging documents.
She was taken to Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital for treatment.
Romano was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault, felony endangering the welfare of children, misdemeanor simple assault, and misdemeanor reckless endangerment. He was turned over to the York County Sheriff's Department for further disposition, police said.
